Man dead after hit-and-run on Hearne Avenue in Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Shreveport Police are searching for the suspect involved in a deadly hit-and-run incident.

Police responded to an incident on Saturday, August 16, at approximately 8:20 p.m. in the 300 block of Hearne Avenue. According to the SPD, the victim, 40-year-old Blake Tannen, was found unconscious in the grass near the roadway when officers arrived. Tannen had been walking northbound in the southbound lanes of Hearne Avenue, placing him directly in the path of the vehicle that struck him. SPD noted that the force of the impact threw Tannen into the grass.

Police say the vehicle involved did not stop and fled the scene immediately. Tannen suffered from multiple injuries due to blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are currently reviewing the area for surveillance footage and additional evidence. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Shreveport Police Department.
