According to the Cass County Prosecutor’s Office, 30-year-old Kayla Lincoln was sentenced last week to 38 years in the Indiana Department of Correction after pleading guilty on May 22 to Dealing in a Controlled Substance Resulting in Death, which is a Level 1 Felony. Her sentence will conclude with the final three years suspended to probation.
Court documents show that authorities responded to a reported overdose on Sept. 2, 2023. A subsequent autopsy that was performed revealed that the victim died as a result of a combined intoxication of fentanyl, acetyl fentanyl and methamphetamine.
The investigation eventually led detectives to Lincoln, who they said brought the narcotics to the victim’s home in exchange for money. The victim died a few hours later of a fatal overdose.
