CHICAGO (WGN) — Surveillance video captured two separate robberies over three days at a River West area bar, with one resulting in an employee being body-slammed by a masked man.

Robbers targeted The Dandy Crown, located at 694 North Milwaukee Avenue. Footage from the first robbery, on Monday, Aug. 11, captured a man with a facial covering as he told the bartender he was armed with a knife.

He then stole two purses and two cellphones and fled the bar.

Days later, on Wednesday, Aug. 13, a masked man in a baseball cap stole a wallet out of a purse in an area for employees only. Video showed that when an employee approached and tried to stop him, he body-slammed her.

Both robberies happened while the bar was open. The Dandy Crown has also had five break-ins over the last two years.

The bar owner says it will implement additional security measures.
