ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – K-9 Dunkin of the Enfield Police Department helped to locate and apprehend a man who had forced entry into a home on Garden Street.

The Enfield Police Department states that on Thursday, officers were sent to a residence on Garden Street for a report of an active burglary. The owner of the home reported that a man had forced entry into his home and was last seen on cameras inside the home as officers arrived.

The department’s Drone and K-9 Unit was requested as a perimeter was established. One department pilot cleared each floor of the home, and the man was not located.

K-9 Dunkin performed a building search and, after clearing three floors, a window was found broken in the basement. Multiple announcements were made for the suspect to give up. After no response, K-9 Dunkin entered the basement, and the suspect was located under construction debris. He was then apprehended by K-9 Dunkin.
