Dog rescued near ‘fully engulfed’ Vacaville home blaze

(KRON) — An investigation is underway after a blaze “fully engulfed” a home in Vacaville Wednesday afternoon, said the Vacaville Fire Department.

Fire crews and Vacaville police responded after 4 p.m. to the incident on Sunset Lane.

Nearby residences potentially threatened by the flames were soon safely evacuated, said police. The fire was contained to the original home after “crews made an aggressive attack,” confirmed VFD.

Police said two officers discovered a dog as they were doing neighborhood checks.

“They found one four-legged friend in a neighboring yard that was endangered by the growing flames and quickly scooted the frightened pup to safety,” added officials in a social media post.

There were no injuries to residents or pets reported so far.
