Authorities gather outside south suburban home amid death investigation

ROBBINS, Ill. (WGN) — A large number of law enforcement officers have gathered outside of a home in south suburban Robbins early Friday morning amid a death investigation.

Law enforcement could be seen positioned outside the home, located near South Claire Boulevard and Maxey Court, at around 6:30 a.m.

The Cook County Medical Examiner has confirmed that authorities in the area are conducting a death investigation, but specific details surrounding the incident are unclear.

Several squad cars, including some from the Cook County Sheriff’s department, were spotted on the scene, as well as multiple officers as they surrounded a white tent that was in the middle of the road.

Additionally, police tape appears to have blocked off a portion of the road surrounding the tent.

SkyCam 9 was over the scene around 6:30 when officers could be spotted working the scene as bystanders gathered nearby.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the heavy police presence.
