Additional personnel assigned to help with Beulah Fire

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — More firefighting personnel have been assigned to the Beulah Fire as it continues to burn in a forested area near the Utah/Wyoming border.

Over 550 personnel are now assigned to the Beulah Fire, which has now burned 4,341 acres and remains 0% contained. Officials say an increased risk of dry thunderstorms and gusty winds over the area could lead to increased fire behavior.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect for most of the state, including in the fire area. Today, crews were focused on protection measures including fireline construction, sprinkler and hose preparation and improvements to access roads. They will also focus on structure protection in the Christmas Meadows area and the Hinckley Boy Scout Camp.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office has now set up notification zones within the area of the fire, and will coordinate with fire officials to determine the appropriate “Ready, Set, or Go” status based on current fire activity. Here is a map of those zones:
