Austin Heuermann was arrested following the hours-long standoff on the 2200 block of Bel Air Street and has been charged with 11 counts of Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant, as well as Possession of Firearm by Felon, Evading Arrest, and a warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine.
Police say officers arrived at the home around 5:00 p.m. to arrest Heuermann on the Methamphetamine warrant.
While officers were getting other people out of the residence, Heuermann allegedly fired a shot from inside, initiating the standoff.
Around 6:00 p.m., police say Heuermann fired a shot at the SWAT team, damaging the windshield of their armored vehicle.
Heuermann was finally taken into custody after 2 hours of negotiations and no injuries were reported in connection to the standoff.
Heuermann now remains held in the Taylor County Jail on bonds totaling more than $600,000.
