Joshua Williams was taken into custody at a home near the intersection of Heritage Lane and Mourning Dove Drive around 2:30 p.m. after a police standoff that lasted for more than 3 hours.
Officers were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Williams, who was wanted for a bond forfeiture on an Injury to a Child charge, when he barricaded himself inside the home.
Police say Williams was found hiding in the attic after officers deployed “chemical munitions” inside. He was taken into custody without incident and no injuries were reported in connection to his arrest.
Court documents state police began investigating Williams in 2021 when 3 children in his care, the oldest of which was three-years-old, were found to have bruises all over their bodies.
