2 killed in concrete truck crash on State Road 39 in Boone County: INDOT

MECHANICSBURG, Ind. — Two people are reportedly dead after a concrete truck crashed on State Road 39 in Boone County.

The crash occurred just before noon Friday along SR-39 between Henry Avenue and Blubaugh Avenue, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation. INDOT closed all lanes during the investigation into the crash.

A traffic alert sent around 11:50 a.m. said the fatal crash involved a head-on collision with a concrete truck and two passenger cars. At least two people were reportedly confirmed dead on scene, while at least one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The crash site is located in Mechanicsburg near the MELS at the Starlite Drive-In Theatre.

INDOT announced the roadway was open once again to traffic shortly after 2 p.m.
