Two arrested in Rowan County drug bust, $350K worth of cocaine seized

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with several other law enforcement agencies, executed two search warrants in Rowan County as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation targeting a suspected trafficking-level offender.

The operation focused on Clarence William West. During the execution of the search warrants, investigators seized approximately 19.6 kilograms of cocaine, $20,940 in cash, and three firearms.

The narcotics seized in this case had an approximate street value of $350,000.

West was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Two counts of trafficking cocaine
  • Maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for controlled substance
  • Money laundering
  • Conspiracy to traffic cocaine
  • Three counts of possession of a firearm by a felon

Detectives also arrested Monica Lynnet Sanders for her involvement in drug trafficking. Sanders was charged with the following offenses:

  • Two counts of trafficking cocaine
  • Maintaining a dwelling/vehicle for controlled substance
  • Money laundering
  • Conspiracy to traffic cocaine

West and Sanders are each being held on a $1 million bond.

This investigation and subsequent arrests represent a coordinated effort to disrupt large-scale narcotics trafficking operations affecting Rowan County and surrounding areas. The case remains under active investigation.
