Local TV Strategies: Technology And The TV Station Group’s Future
A group of local TV’s leading technology executives will share how cloud, automation, AI and hubbing will reshape their operations for years to come in “Technology and the TV Station Group’s Future,” a panel at TVNewsCheck’s Local TV Strategies conference at the NAB Show New York on Oct. 22 at the Javits Center.

Speakers are Paul Capizzi, CIO and SVP of enterprise technology operations, Fox Corp.; Mike Kralec, SVP-CTO, Sinclair; Blake Russell, EVP, operations, Nexstar; and Stefan Hadl, SVP, broadcast engineering and technology, Hearst Television. TVNewsCheck Contributing Editor Glen Dickson will moderate the discussion.

Panelists will tackle the challenging issues of changing newsroom systems; developments in remote and hubbed production; the evolving relationship with technology vendors as the cloud and IP networking take over the industry; and where AI is facilitating and creating new challenges for operations.

“As consolidation looms over the industry, we’ll be very interested to hear how these tech leaders are preparing for that eventuality,” said Michael Depp, chief content officer, NewsCheckMedia, and editor of TVNewsCheck. “Just as compelling will be their respective thresholds for AI adoption and the knock-on effects it’s having on their organizations including their data protection and cybersecurity. There is an enormous amount of ground to cover in such an eventful year for broadcast tech.”
