CALCASIEU PARISH, La. (KLFY) — An ongoing joint investigation led to 13 felony arrests and the seizure of firearms and drugs, deputies said.

According to officials, the joint operations have resulted in

• 13 felony arrests
• 7 firearms seized (1 reported stolen)
• Over 14.1 ounces of marijuana
• 12 Xanax pills
• 9 pressed fentanyl pills

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff shared how operations that began in July focused on areas at local bars and establishments where individuals are gathering outside, in parking lots, and participating in criminal activity. 

“These criminals are gathering outside these establishments, often in the parking lots, to conduct their activity,” said Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Stitch Guillory.  “Guns, drugs, and alcohol don’t mix and don’t make for a good situation.  There is also no reason a person needs an AR-15 at a bar, and the fact that a juvenile was arrested during one of these incidents is unacceptable.  A juvenile has no business being at a bar in the first place.  I do want to thank the owners of some of these establishments that have reached out to us and are willing to work with law enforcement to make their businesses and our community safer.” 

The following are arrests made during these operations:

Fabian A. Green, 26

• Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Taaj Coleman, 19

• Possession of a stolen firearm
• Possession of marijuana
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• Traffic violation

Devonte Guillory, 20

• Warrant for possession of a firearm with obliterated serial numbers

Tevin K. Brooks, 34

• Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
• Illegal window tint

Halbert J. Adams, 35

• P&P Warrant: 2 counts of armed robbery with the use of a firearm

Dedric J. Lasalle, 21

• Possession of CDS II
• Possession of CDS IV
• Traffic violation

Michael R. Darby, 21

• Possession of CDS I with intent to distribute
• Possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS
• Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile

Kayda N. Joseph, 20

• Possession of CDS I with intent to distribute
• Possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS
• Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile

Devonte D. Guidroz, 20

• Resisting an officer
• Possession of CDS I with intent to distribute
• Possession of a firearm in the presence of CDS
• Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile

The investigation remains ongoing and officials said more arrests are likely to come.
