Alexander County man charged after throwing rock at patrol vehicle during domestic dispute: Sheriff

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Taylorsville man is facing charges after reportedly throwing a large rock at a sheriff’s patrol vehicle during a domestic disturbance call.

According to the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a possible domestic situation along Eastfield Lane around Tuesday, August 12.

When they arrived, Brock Anthony Rennicker, 40, allegedly threw a large rock at a marked patrol Dodge Durango, hitting the rear side window and causing significant damage.

Rennicker ran from the scene before deputies could arrest him, but he was located and taken into custody the next day, the sheriff’s office said.

He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a female, interfering with emergency communication, resisting arrest, damage to government property, and littering.

Rennicker is currently being held at the Alexander County Detention Center without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 18.
