New Orleans police officer arrested in connection with LSP investigation involving prostitution

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An investigation into the alleged participation of prostitution has led to the arrest of a New Orleans Police Department officer.

Louisiana State Police troopers reported that in early 2025, while investigating a separate case, the LSP Bureau of Investigations New Orleans Field Office uncovered evidence of criminal activity by the NOPD.

The investigation revealed that while on duty in the French Quarter, NOPD officer 56-year-old Terrance “TJ” Johnson allegedly coordinated and paid women in exchange for sexual relations on multiple occasions.

An arrest warrant was issued for Johnson but on Wednesday, Aug. 13, he reportedly turned himself in and was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on:

• Two counts of prostitution
• Three counts of malfeasance in office
• Two counts of injuring public records
