Man shot, person taken to hospital on south side

INDIANAPOLIS – One person was shot and another was taken to an area hospital following a late Tuesday night incident on the south side of Indianapolis.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Southeast District officers were dispatched after 11:20 p.m. Tuesday to the 5100 block of Lasalle Street. That’s just east of the intersection of McFarland and Thompson roads.

IMPD found an adult who’d been shot. Police described the injuries as minor and said medics treated the man at the scene.

A second person was taken to an area hospital for an unrelated medical issue, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
