K-State’s Dylan Edwards poised for big year in 2025

MANHATTAN (KSNT) — Dylan Edwards has the speed, but now, K-State believes he’s ready to bring the complete package.

After flashing big-play ability as a sophomore behind DJ Giddens, Edwards enters 2025 poised for a breakout season.

He rushed for 546 yards and five touchdowns, while reeling in 133 yards receiving to go along with two more scores in 2024.

Edwards is also an electric punt returner, taking one back in the 31-7 win against Arizona.

Offensive coordinator Matt Wells says the junior will be seen as a do-it-all player across the field.

“He’s electric and we all know it. Anytime the ball touches his hands, he can hit a home run,” Wells said. I envision him in space. I envision him in between tackles. He’s going to play receiver and running back. He’s a talented kid.”

Edwards agrees, noting he’s more confident and comfortable in his second year in Manhattan.

“I take a lot of pride in being a game-changer anywhere the team needs me on the field,” Edwards said. “As long as I keep taking notes and meetings to the field, I’ll be just fine.”

That growth could be critical for the offense of No. 17 Kansas State, looking to start fast against No. 22 Iowa State on Aug. 23 in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland.
