Accidental shooting Sunday afternoon sends Baton Rouge woman to hospital

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating an accidental shooting that happened in the 5600 block of Clayton Street on Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, where they learned a woman had been shot and had taken a personal vehicle to the hospital.

According to a report, the woman was in a room with her brother and several other men who had guns in the room.

BRPD says one of the guns went off, injuring the female victim.

The female victim was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

The investigation into this shooting remains ongoing.
