NATCHITOCHES PARISH, La. (WNTZ) – A single-vehicle crash caused partial road blockage on U.S. Highway 71 near Fairview Alpha on Thursday afternoon, August 7th, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene around 2 p.m. and found a 2010 Chevrolet Impala that had overturned after striking a tree just south of the community.

Authorities said a 27-year-old Red River Parish man was driving northbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway on the left side, hit a tree and overturned. The impact caused the tree to fall into the roadway, partially blocking traffic.

No injuries were reported.

Deputy A. Middleton is handling the crash investigation. Motorists traveling through the area were urged to drive carefully and avoid distractions while the scene remained active.
