A domestic violence call in Lyons Township ended in an officer-involved shooting after police allegedly found a suspect stabbing a woman on Monday evening.
A Cook County Sheriff’s police officer responded to a domestic violence call in the 6400 block of Joliet Road in unincorporated Lyons Township at around 5:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, police say the officer found a male suspect holding a female at knifepoint. She was visibly bleeding. A second female was on the floor “motionless” and bleeding.
Police say the officer shot the suspect when he began stabbing the victim again.
Both victims and the suspect were transported to area hospitals. Their conditions are unknown.
