Owner Michael Reynosa said the event is about creating a welcoming space where kids feel no pressure, only confidence, all powered by grace and clippers.
“We just want to boost the kids’ confidence, give them an atmosphere where there’s no negativity, just peace, the love of God, the acceptance, just plant seeds of faith and hope, and let them know that they are a child of God. It’s just a beautiful thing,” Reynosa expressed.
This marked the second annual event, inspired by the community and, especially, Reynosa’s mother.
“They just believe in what we do here, that believe in God that we serve, and it was easy for them to partner with us for this, for this cause, and to help out the families in need with free haircuts, free backpacks, and school supplies. It’s been a blessing,” Reynosa shared. “I had a wonderful mother. She did everything that she could as a mom, and I just know how hard it is to come from the struggle, but to also open up our arms and be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. I’m just doing what I’m called to do. Cutting hair and trying to be a blessing plant seeds of faith and hope. Everybody here, that’s the body of Christ that’s come together to help make it, make these things possible. I’m super thankful.”
At the event, Crown of Thorns Barbershop provided more than 120 free haircuts and distributed 115 backpacks to kids across the community.
