On the evening of Aug. 4, law enforcement officials responded to a reported crash on I-70 in Hancock County. When a sergeant with the Indiana State Police responded, he reportedly saw a man, later identified as Hacker, with a shirt that had blood “all over it.”

A woman was reportedly in the vehicle during the incident. The documents said that she told law enforcement that during an argument, Hacker reportedly pulled a gun on her, shot out the car’s window and threw it out of the car. This comes after the woman reportedly drove the car off the road at a “very high speed.”

The woman told law enforcement at the scene that Hacker allegedly “took her head to his, held the gun up to her head and stated, if he shoots, it’s going to go through both of us.”

“If you stop, I’m killing us both because I’m facing 12,” Hacker reportedly told the woman during the argument.

In an interview with Hacker at the scene, he reportedly claimed the woman had a gun, repeatedly stating that he did not throw a gun out of the car.

“I didn’t see a weapon, she just took me off the road, but I know she has a weapon,” Hacker reportedly told law enforcement. Hacker went on to say that he couldn’t be around guns because he was “a f****** felon.”

The documents stated that Hacker was previously found guilty of battery by means of a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon.

On Aug. 6, the documents said that law enforcement officials found a gun in the area of the scene, near the 111-mile marker of I-70 westbound.

According to court documents, Hacker’s initial hearing occurred on Monday morning in Hancock County court.
