CLOSURE: 4400 South in Riverdale to close for 3 months as crews demolish, rebuild bridge over I-15

RIVERDALE, Utah (ABC4) — A closure at 4400 South in Riverdale begins Monday, Aug. 11, as crews will work for the next three months to demolish and rebuild the bridge over I-15.

Beginning Monday, 4400 South between 1600 West/Airport Road and Cozy Dale Drive will close for an estimated three months while crews demolish and rebuild the bridge over I-15. Estimated reopening date is Nov. 26.

Additionally, starting Friday, Aug. 22, the 4400 South closure will extend to 1250 West/Parker Road for around six weeks for infrastructure improvements. Estimated reopening date is Oct. 3.

“Drivers should use 1900 West, Riverdale Road, and Cozy Dale Drive as a detour route and plan a few extra minutes for their commute through the area,” Riverdale City said in a statement on social media. “Patrons of the Ogden Airport should use 31st Street to access the airport in the timeliest manner.”

The Utah Dept. of Transportation will replace three bridges in Riverdale, including 4400 South over I-15. The other projects include two ramp bridges carrying traffic to and from I-15 to I-84 over 4400 South.

In total, the work is expected to last 10 months, according to UDOT.
