Juvenile hospitalized after being shot in Sanger

SANGER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A juvenile was hospitalized after being shot in Sanger Friday night, the city’s police department said.

It happened in the area of Faller and 5th streets, just before 8 p.m., at a nearby park.

Officers said a juvenile was shot and was transported to the hospital – their status is unknown at this time.

Police report two suspects were seen entering a household, and that house is being searched.

Investigators believe the incident is gang-related. The Sanger Police Department asked the public to stay out of the area. Police Chief John Reynolds added that “the scene is not even secured for investigators.”

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office joined this investigation.
