Shreveport police were called to the Petro Travel Center at 6910 W. Bert Kouns Industrial Loop on August 6, around 4:15 p.m., for a disorderly person at the business.
When officers arrived, witnesses alleged that the suspect Robert Macconnell, 57, had hit two female employees in the face. Officers also observed that the suspect was “heavily intoxicated and behaving aggressively.”
He resisted violently as officers attempted to detain him and tried to engage them in a fight. Police eventually detained him, and he was arrested without further incident.
Macconnell was booked into Shreveport City Jail on two counts of simple battery, and single counts of theft, trespassing, resisting and officer with force or violence, simple battery of a police officer, simple escape, and disturbing the peace by public intoxication.
