Nevaeh Veronica Moses, 18, of Goldsboro, was arrested after the sharing of nude photos on July 15 with the “intent to demean (and) humiliate” the victim, according to an arrest warrant and a Wayne County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies revealed Thursday that Moses was arrested late last month.
The ordeal began when a North Carolina-based U.S. Marine first met Moses on social media. He then traveled from Jacksonville to Goldsboro to meet Moses, deputies said.
The pair then went on two dates, but “following an argument between them, nude images of the Marine were sent via Instagram to several of his contacts,” the news release said.
“The victim’s intimate parts were exposed in the disclosed image(s),” the warrant said.
The arrest warrant for Moses addressed the privacy issues involved.
“The defendant obtained the image under circumstances such that the defendant knew and should have known the victim expected the image to remain private,” the arrest warrant said.
Deputies said during an investigation, “an admission was obtained” from Moses.
She was charged with seven felony counts of disclosure of private images/adult. Moses was later released from the Wayne County Jail on a $25,000 unsecured bond.
Moses later filed an Affidavit of Indigency, which means the court system will likely appoint her an attorney.
