31-year-old man killed in South Jordan motorcycle crash

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — A 31-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle crash in South Jordan Saturday night, according to South Jordan Police.

At around 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 9, police responded to a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. A 31-year-old man was reportedly riding a motorcycle on Redwood Rd., heading north, as another driver was heading south in their vehicle.

The driver turned left into a Smith’s parking lot at 10300 S Redwood Rd., according to Sgt. Eric Anderson, South Jordan Police. As the driver made the turn, the motorcyclist crashed into the vehicle and was severely injured.

Medical personnel responded and pronounced the man deceased on scene.

The driver involved stayed on scene and cooperated with police. While the crash is currently under investigation, Anderson said there are no indications of intoxication being involved as a factor at this time.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.

No further information is currently available.
