SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Two brothers previously indicted on federal armed robbery charges now face an additional federal indictment for the victim’s death by using a firearm.

Acting U.S. Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook announced on Friday, August 8, 2025, that a grand jury returned a superseding indictment on brothers Kevin Terrell Lewis, aka Kelvin Lewis, 38, of Arlington, Texas, and Larry Dewayne Lewis, 44, of Shreveport.

The brothers were indicted for “robbery and conspiracy to use, carry, brandish, and discharge firearms during and in relation to a crime of violence.” The superseding indictment adds another charge of causing death to the victim, Billy Jamison.

The superseding indictment claims that on or around January 22, 2025, Kevin and Larry Lewis, aided and abetted by one another, committed robbery of personal property that included prescription drugs and a work van used by the victim to make deliveries from the Hackbarth Company to a Walgreens on Line Avenue. The U.S. Attorney is now alleging through the superseding indictment that both Lewis’s “knowingly used and discharged a firearm during and in relation to a robbery causing the victim’s death with the use of a firearm,” which constituted murder.

The indictment further alleges that on or about December 23, 2024, the Lewis brothers committed robbery at the Pull-Up Liquor store located at 5619 Hearne Ave., robbing the victim, owner/manager, of about $500 as he was closing the store and walking to his car.

Kevin Lewis is charged in the superseding indictment with using, carrying, and brandishing semi-automatic firearms during and in relation to these crimes of violence. The indictment also alleges both brothers conspired to “use, carry, brandish, and discharge a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, namely robbery.”

Although the indictments were returned, the FBI continues to investigate other individuals who are believed to have participated in these crimes. Anyone with information should contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, the FBI New Orleans Field Office, or submit tips online.

The FBI issued a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of additional individuals involved in the murder of Billy Jamison, 67, who was killed during the January 22 robbery at Walgreens.

Both men could be sentenced to a maximum of life in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 if convicted.
