Robocall Roundup: 37 telecom companies issued warning letters for suspected FCC violations

Cracking down on robocalls

In an effort to stop telecom companies from violating FCC rules regarding illegal robocalls, Attorneys General across the country are banding together.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison said he and 50 other attorneys are sending 37 letters to voice providers demanding that they stop illegal robocalls from being routed through their networks.

“If there’s one thing that unites us as Minnesotans, it’s our love of the Vikings. If there are two things, it’s our love of the Vikings and our hatred of robocalls,” said Ellison. “Minnesotans are sick and tired of these calls, me included, so I am launching Operation Robocall Roundup to crack down on telecom companies that refuse to follow simple rules to stop illegal robocalls on their networks. If these telecom companies do not comply with rules to prevent robocalls, I am prepared to hold them accountable.”

A list of the companies sent warning letters can be found ONLINE.

For Minnesotans wishing to submit a complaint regarding robocalls, a complaint can be filed on the Attorney General’s website.
