Power outages in Claude after power line hit by oversized load

ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Officials with the Armstrong County Sheriff’s Office announced that a power line is down near the intersection of Hwy 207 and Orient Street on Thursday evening, causing power outages in Claude. Officials added that Xcel Energy crews are on the scene working to restore power in Claude.

According to Armstrong County officials, a power line was downed after an oversized load got caught on it.

Drivers are asked to avoid this area while crews are working to keep people off the downed line and away from the broken poles and downed transformer.
