The fire, located between milepost 37 and Dunning Road on the Middle Ford Ranger district, is now 50% contained at 35 acres burning, the USDA Forest Service said in a Friday night update.
The fire, the cause of which is still under investigation, is burning timber on steep ground, USDA FS officials said. Crews are currently mopping up and it will continue through tomorrow.
The Oregon Department of Transportation has also lifted its closure of Highway 58, though the road is still reduced to one lane between milepost 36 and 62. Delays are expected to continue.
