On Wednesday August 6th around 11:15 p.m., Topeka police were called around 11:15 p.m. on Aug. 6 to the 100 block of Northwest Kendall Avenue on reports of a shooting, according to a press release. Officers located one person suffering from life threatening injuries in the area.
Medical personnel declared the victim dead at the scene. This marks the city’s 14th homicide investigation of the year. The investigation is ongoing and updates will be provided when they become available.
