Arrest made after early morning Addison Township shooting

GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WOWK) — Gallia County Sheriff Matt Champlin shared information regarding an overnight shooting that occurred in Addison Township early Thursday morning.

In a Facebook post, Sheriff Champlin said the Gallia County 911 Center received a report of a shooting at a residence in the 400 block of East Bethel Church Road around 12:49 a.m. The shooting was said to have stemmed from a dispute between neighbors.

Responders located an injured individual, who was quickly transported to Holzer Medical Center for treatment.

Sheriff Champlin said, “One male has been detained, and investigators are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

The investigation is still ongoing with further information to be released at a later time.
