NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The tropics continue to be quiet locally and there is not going to be much change over the next week. There will be a wave moving west through the Gulf by the end of the weekend that could bring rain chances back up by Sunday and Monday, but doesn’t look like it will be developing.

A stronger wave coming off Africa has a medium chance of development the next few days as it moves west. However this will not be an issue for anywhere near the Gulf.

Locally we will continue to see more standard early August weather. Like the past couple of days we will see isolated storms Thursday afternoon but plenty of sun outside of those. Slow movement could lead to isolated street flooding as temperatures top out at 92-94. Rain chances looks a bit lower on Friday at 30%. Isolated storms will again be possible on Saturday.
