The August 2025 Nintendo Indie World Showcase has come to a close, and while it came and went without a Hollow Knight: Silksong release date, it still brought 15 minutes of other indie game announcements.
The presentation kicked off with a demo announcement for Yacht Club Games’ Mina the Hollower before showing new footage for other titles, such as Well Dweller, Content Warning on consoles, Herdling, and Neverway. While there were certainly plenty of highlights packed into its 15-minute runtime, there will no doubt be many let down by another Team Cherry no-show as they continue to wait for a Hollow Knight: Silksong release date.
Still, it’s clear indie gaming fans have more than a few games to look forward to in 2025 and 2026, even as the next Hollow Knight game remains under lock and key. You can see everything announced at the August 2025 Nintendo Indie World Showcase below.
Mina the Hollower Unearths New Switch and Switch 2 Demo
Yacht Club Games kicked off today’s presentation with a trailer for its new game, Mina the Hollower, revealing that a demo is available to play on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 starting today. You can dive into a brief look at the game ahead of its October 31, 2025, release date.

You’ll fire a slingshot, jump through hordes of bees, and battle giant, nightmarish creatures in Well Dweller, the next game from Crypt Custodian developer Kyle Thompson. Its new trailer shows off its Hollow Knight-inspired world and a release window of 2026.

Neverway is a life-sim RPG co-created by the pixel artist behind Celeste, and it’s coming to Nintendo Switch sometime in 2026. A new trailer for Coldblood Inc. and Outersloth’s bleak new adventure showed off a few of the characters and locations Fiona will discover on her journey.
Herdling Locks Down August Release Date
The publishing team behind Firewatch and the developers behind the Far series have shown off a new trailer for Herdling, which is coming to Nintendo Switch August 21, 2025. Pre-orders will be available later today.

Is This Seat Taken? showed up for today’s August 2025 Nintendo Indie World Showcase with a trailer showing how it will let players on Switch drag and drop small shape friends with its cute puzzle gameplay. Wholesome Games Presents and Poti Poti Studio’s new game is out later today, so be sure to check out its new trailer before diving in for yourself.
Little Kitty, Big City’s City Gets Even Bigger With New Update
Double Dagger Studio made a surprise appearance at the Indie World Showcase to talk about its new update for Little Kitty, Big City. As shown in its new video, players will be able to enjoy a cat customizer, new areas and friends to meet, and more when the free Picture Purrfect update launches later this year.

Landfall Games’ viral co-op-centered horror game, Content Warning, will finally make the jump to consoles when it comes to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026. A first look trailer shown during the Indie World Showcase today teased how players will be able to work together on their quest to become legendary content creators.
