MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Police in Montgomery County have blocked off Sandy Spring Road following a deadly crash early Wednesday morning.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD), the collision happened in the 4500 block of Sandy Spring Road in the Burtonsville area.

Details are limited; however, police noted the call came in around 3:20 a.m. on Aug. 6. Once on the scene, officers found the driver of a Red Honda CR-V injured. First responders tried to save him, but he died at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle, a gray Honda CR-V, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
