The sitting sheriff is proud of what the county has been able to accomplish and hopes to continue what he has started.

“Serving in this role has been a great honor, especially as a lifelong resident of Boone County,” Yunk said. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together over the past three years.”

“I remain committed to keeping our communities safe, strong and supported,” Yunk continued.

Yunk assumed the role of sheriff in 2022 when he ran as a Republican against former sheriff David Ernst.
