18-wheeler driver killed in Holmes County crash

HOLMES COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – An 18-wheeler driver was killed during a crash in Holmes County.

The crash occurred on Interstate 55 near mile marker 150 around 5:30 p.m. on August 6.

Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said the 18-wheeler was traveling south on I-55 when it left the roadway and collided with several trees.

The driver, 47-year-old Michael K. Ferguson, of Houston, Mississippi, received fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation by the MHP.
