Troup County Sheriff's deputy receives 'Richard English Strongest Link Award'
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A Troup County Sheriff’s deputy was recently recognized for their professionalism and excellence in their respective career.

Troup County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Gary Wood was named the July recipient of the Richard English Strongest Link Award. The award recognizes employees who demonstrate excellent performance, productivity, loyalty, and professional pride, according to officials with Troup County.

The award was renamed after late Commissioner Richard English, Jr., who is remembered by the community and leaders for his outstanding dedication and service to Troup County.

The sheriff’s office says Wood has over 20 years of service and is a “valuable part of the Court Services Division.”
