TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — An investigation into alleged sexually motivated interactions involving a child resulted in the arrest of Raceland man.
The investigation began on July 30, according to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, after Special Victim’s Unit detectives learned of inappropriate messages being sent to a 13-year-old.
The investigation revealed, 23-year-old Markiano Michael Robichaux was originally hired by the victim’s family as a music teacher for a child.
Deputies said that’s when Robichaux met the victim and allegedly began to send them “sexually motivated messages” on several social media platforms. The victim’s parents found the messages and alerted authorities.
Robichaux was identified as the alleged perpetrator and taken in for questioning where he allegedly admitted to sending the messages and that he knew the victim’s age.
He has since been arrested on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile and computer aided solicitation of a minor. Robichaux was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where he is being held on a $100,000 bond.
