The Topeka Police Department (TPD) announced in a press release that officers arrested Avant Chambers, 18, of Topeka on charges of murder in the first degree and distribution of certain depressants. His arrest is in connection with the shooting death of 28-year-old Destiny Voss
Police were called around 11:30 p.m. on July 6 for a gunshot victim arriving at a local hospital. The shooting victim, later identified as Voss, was suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound and died. The TPD said the shooting occurred in the 3200 block of Southwest Randolph Avenue.
