Chase in Jackson ends with juvenile driver hitting building

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Capitol police announced a juvenile driver was injured after hitting the side of a building during a chase.

Bailey Martin, spokesperson for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS), said officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Bobby Rush Boulevard just before 8:00 p.m. on August 5. She said the unidentified driver failed to stop and led officers on a chase.

According to Martin, the driver struck the side of a building on Amite Street. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash is under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP).
