Man charged with sexually assaulting a minor in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Saul Fernandez, 37, for sexually assaulting a minor, according to court records.

Officers received reports from DCFS that the child was sexually abused when she was around 13 years old on April 10.

Court documents show that the suspect touched the minor inappropriately on multiple occasions.

Ferandez is charged with criminal sexual assault of a family member under the age of 18.

He was booked into the Winnebago County Jail on August 6.

A mugshot of the suspect was not readily available at this time.
