Girl, 16, stabbed multiple times in South Loop

CHICAGO — A 16-year-old girl was stabbed and seriously injured in the city’s South Loop neighborhood.

The stabbing happened around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday on the 1100 block of South State Street, near the CTA Red Line station at State and Roosevelt.

Police said preliminary investigation indicates the girl was in a verbal altercation with another person when she was stabbed multiple times.

She was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where she is listed in serious condition.

No one is in custody. Area Three Detectives are investigating.
