Bicyclist in critical condition after reported northwest side hit-and-run

INDIANAPOLIS – A bicyclist was hurt in a hit-and-run crash on the near northwest side of Indianapolis on Wednesday morning.

This happened in the 1700 block of North Tibbs Avenue. Police were dispatched just after 5:50 a.m.

IMPD said a vehicle hit a person on a bicycle and left.

An officer at the scene said the bicyclist was taken to an area hospital. In an update from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on Wednesday, the bicyclist is reported to be in critical condition.

Traffic on Tibbs was affected between 17th and 21st streets for crash reconstruction and investigation.
