SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The YWCA of Northwest Louisiana will celebrate a century of empowering women during their upcoming annual fundraiser, “Women Who Care, Share” luncheon. It will take place Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino, located at 315 Clyde Fant Parkway in downtown Shreveport.

This year’s theme is “100 years of Empowering Women.” The luncheon will feature a panel of distinguished women leaders: Vivian Andrews, President of La Ve’ Consulting; Erica R. Bryant, Parish Administrator & CEO for the Parish of Caddo; Linda Biernacki, President of Fire Tech Systems; and Rachel Scott, VISTA Supervisor.

“Our annual fundraiser is more than an event, it’s a movement,” said YWCA Board President Valerie Thomas White. “Together, we’re raising the resources needed to create lasting change and support the women, children, and families who rely on our services every day.”

Organizers say this event is all about women coming together to share their stories, support each other, and lift each other up. The goal is to raise critical funds for initiatives that support survivors of domestic violence, provide affordable housing, and deliver economic empowerment.

Tickets are $75 each and can be purchased online or by calling 318-550-4417.
