Dalton, a trusted face in Memphis, Tennessee, as part of the WREG weather team, brings more than a decade of forecasting experience, a deep passion for severe weather coverage, and a commitment to keeping Louisianans informed and safe.
“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be joining the StormTracker team at Louisiana First News. South Louisiana is home; it’s where my interest in weather began, and I am honored to be able to lead this team to keep our area safe,” said Jake Dalton.
The capital area native is a graduate of Mississippi State University. Dalton has previously worked in Meridian, Mississippi, Baton Rouge and Jackson, Mississippi, where he has had extensive experience covering hurricanes and severe storms.
“I’m excited to welcome Jake home and to have him lead our team of meteorologists. We’ve assembled a dedicated team that I know will serve the Baton Rouge region well”, said John Walton, news director for Louisiana First News.

Jake Dalton joins the StormTracker Weather team, which includes meteorologists Ashley Renee, Alex Noel, Keller Watts, and student meteorologist Taylor Hunn, all dedicated to delivering accurate, dependable forecasts around the clock.
