Kate Craft with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) said in a press release that traffic changes will go into effect starting at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5 on Highway 24. She said the right lane of westbound Highway 24 will close between Kansas Avenue and Topeka Boulevard.
Craft said access to and from Kansas Avenue and Topeka Boulevard will remain in place. Drivers can expect the lane closure to stay in effect until the morning of Thursday, Aug. 7 while a pipe is installed along the road.
KDOT will keep the inside lanes closed for another six weeks. Workers will close the outside lanes of Highway 24 for pavement replacement work following this period. You can keep up with KDOT’s road work projects in Kansas by calling 511 or by visiting KanDrive.
