Kate Craft with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) said in a press release that work crews will be closing parts of U.S. Highway 24 as part of an ongoing reconstruction project. Work on the highway will last between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday, July 28.
Craft said workers will close the highway temporarily in five places with each closure lasting 15 minutes each on Highway 24 at the Soldier Creek bridge while crews move bridge beams. Drivers will be brought to a full stop on the highway and be directed by flaggers during the temporary closures.
KDOT reports drivers should plan for delays and allow for extra time when using the highway during this project. You can keep up with other road work projects in Kansas by calling 511 or by consulting KanDrive online.
