APD said 911 received a call at 2:38 a.m. Sunday about a man with “apparent injuries to his body” near the 9800 block of North Interstate 35.
According to police, officers found a Hispanic man with injuries at the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but he later died at 3:25 a.m. APD has not yet identified the man.
“In this case, we are dedicated to finding out exactly what happened,” APD said during a briefing Sunday morning. “There’s not a ton of information right now, as the investigation is just beginning.”
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 37th homicide of 2025, and APD said it was being handled by both the crime scene investigation unit and the homicide division.
